Celebrations lift our spirits and make us happy. We’ve loved seeing iRise heroes faces every week celebrating joy and laughter. We celebrate milestones in life, but why wait for such momentous occasions? Let’s tonight go deeper into celebration. The beautiful things of everyday life can be an uplifting and awe-inspiring experience, if we allow them to be. A quick phone call or a cuppa with a friend, can bring joy and laughter, releasing negative thoughts and connecting us at heart level. Our capacity to celebrate is an important secret to developing a positive mental attitude.
Practicing the art of celebration can change our lives. Let’s celebrate ourselves, celebrate each other and laugh our way to joy and happiness.
Steph Mayo Facilitator Joyworks
Steph knows from personal experience that in times of stress and uncertainty self soothing activities, in communion with others, help us not just to survive, but to thrive. For over 20 years she had been privileged to enjoy beautiful relationships across a broad range of work environments in the varied fields of social work, adult education and counselling, group work and Yoga.
Ten years ago, she was delighted to train as a Laughter Yoga Leader with Sharon Miller, and this allowed a shift in perspective to a more light-hearted and relaxed approach to work and life. A year later she trained in the Joyworks method and is a much treasured, gifted and compassionate facilitator we are blessed to have on our team.
Steph also facilitates gentle yoga groups with folk of all ages and ability levels and she is passionate about helping people to honour, respect and playfully enjoy being in their bodies. Running intergenerational drama groups in Care Homes, offering Reiki and energy healing, laughter yoga and gentle massage. This work has given her access to inspiring spaces where she has been able to witness the resilience and courage of the precious souls she has been privileged to work alongside.

Who Is Sharon Miller?
Sharon is the founder of Joyworks, and is an experienced Yoga Laughter instructor and trainer, and will talk about how laughter and self-love are interconnected. You’ll leave feeling celebrated, energized, positive and closer to others, with lots of practical take-aways on how you can improve well-being for yourself and others. Come laugh like you’ve never laughed before for laughter truly is the best medicine!!
