Hi, thank you for your interest in our 2 hour S.A.M.H.I. Chemically Speaking Two (Brief Intervention) training program.
This course is for anyone who wants to learn how to deliver a brief intervention for loved ones using alcohol, ICE & other drugs.
This program is an introduction and an ideal platform for the comprehensive Dual Diagnosis 2 day (12 hour) advanced S.A.M.H.I. (Substance Abuse & Mental Health Intervention) Training designed for front line workers that released during 2018.
Chemically Speaking Two is an upgrade to the original Chemically Speaking program produced in 1999 and now provides training in:

This program will help you develop the skills to deliver brief and early interventions to people struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues. This is part of our wider Community Development Response to ICE & Other Drugs.

About Instructor
George Patriki
George Patriki has over 7 years of lived experience as an ex-addict himself. He has spent over 10 years accessing various treatment and recovery programs to work through these underlying issues. Soon, after exiting the drug culture in 1983, George began reaching out to people with substance abuse issues and has 28 years of clinical experience as a counselor, educator and clinical supervisor.
Since 1992, he has developed this commitment into a full-time vocation and career as a Dual Diagnosis Consultant on the Gold Coast and throughout Australia. George has spent countless hours helping thousands of people affected by drug & alcohol issues, as well as concurrent mental health concerns.
George is committed to reaching out to people struggling with addictive behaviors, particularly those with severe life-controlling problems due to significant trauma. He works in areas of court advocacy, counseling and outreach, as well as running community forums, seminars and recovery groups for drug users (including dual & multiple diagnoses) and their loved ones.
George has been delivering training in Dual Diagnosis since 2002. Since then, he has 19 years of experience as an educator to Government and Non-Government organizations in Australia and in 94 countries worldwide through his online Dual Diagnosis Training.
