Dee Marie, MA, CYT has practiced medically based Ayurvedic yoga therapy since 1986. After a traumatic car accident and being told by doctors she would never walk again, Dee earned a master’s degree in Therapeutic Exercise with a focus on Child & Motor Development from New York University. Dee Marie proved the doctors’ dire forecast wrong.
After recovery, Dee spent four years studying the effects of integrating a classical yoga program within the school day; one that would regulate behavior, increase concentration, and teach stress management. As a result, she was elected as the SAVE (Stop America’s Violence Everywhere) Representative and State Ambassador for Colorado by the American Medical Association Alliance.
Since 2004, her program, CALMING KIDS (CK): Creating a Non-Violent World, has instructed children, teens, and adults with a proven curriculum of yoga education. The CK films have been designed for students of all ages and abilities to find balance in an ever-changing world of challenges and joys.
